The latest trailer for Sonic Prime shows the blue pig racing across multiple universes and featuring a massive redesign of the fan-favorite game.
Depending on your point of view, now is a great time to be a Sonic fan. certainly, sonic frontier Far from perfect, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a genuinely good time. The next installment in the film franchise is also only a few years away, and that’s the Knuckles spin-off series. Next month, Netflix will bring us a brand new show, Sonic Prime, that puts our favorite little crooks in trouble – Egghead seemingly ruling the worlds of the multiverse.
Sorry, I should have called them broken spaces like Tails, whatever that means. Earlier trailers have indeed suggested that Sonic will travel to another dimension. Although it just shows a scene that puts everyone in a fascist, futuristic city where all of Sonic’s friends are cyborgs (oh, and no one knows who he is).
This latest trailer shows off more worlds Sonic visits, one where his friends are all pirates, and another where everything seems more Stone Age. But no matter where he finds himself, none of his friends remember him in one version, which is really kind of sad, isn’t it.
Sonic Prime hits Netflix on Dec. 15 with 24 episodes from Canadian production company WildBrain, with showrunners and executive producers from Man of Action Entertainment, the studio you probably know best as the one behind Ben 10.
Apparently, Sonic Frontiers is still a ways off, as the game director said recently. The game does have a lot of issues, but the team is listening to feedback from fans and critics, so hopefully those issues can be addressed.
