After the two successful films, “Sonic the Hedgehog”, based on the video game franchise, will be brought to the big screen for a third time – and the cast will then again have a lot of celebrities.
As is well known, the “Sonic the Hedgehog” film series will be continued with a third film – and then numerous well-known names from the film industry will be involved again. “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” also stars Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik return. The second film had already featured a cliffhanger about the mad scientist in a post-credits scene and paved the way for the comeback in film number 3.
In addition to Jim Carrey, other well-known actors from the previous film adaptations are also returning for the new film. Idris Elba will return as Knuckles, James Marsden will be Tom, Bem Schwartz will voice Sonic and Colleen O’Shaughnessey will be Tails.
There are also other cast members and there are a number of well-known names among them. The most prominent examples are certainly Krysten Ritter from “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” and Cristo Fernandez, who won fans’ hearts as a Mexican footballer in “Ted Lasso” on AppleTV+. Sofia Pernas (“Blood & Treasure”), Ayla Browne (“Three Thousand Years of Longing”), James Wolk (“Harley Quinn”) and Jorma Taccone (“MacGruber”) should also be mentioned at this point.
“Sonic the Hedgehog 3”, based on the well-known video game series from SEGA, will pick up where the second part ended. According to a mid-credits scene, Shadow the Hedgehog is also expected to make an appearance. Rumor has it that this character will be voiced by Hayden Christensen in the film.
According to Variety’s report, Jeff Fowler is also back as director. Producers are Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara and Hitoshi Okuno. The third film adaptation was announced in February 2022, filming started in July 2023. The film will finally be shown in cinemas on December 20, 2024. The previous films were very popular and grossed a whopping $870.8 million at the box office.
