A bug in the PSN store in Southeast Asia has caused players who bought Final Fantasy 7 Remake to send a digital copy of the game in the wrong language.
As reported by Siliconera, PlayStation stores in the region usually sell multiple versions of each game, distinguishing titles by language. Although these tags are usually clearly marked, an error in the product mapping in the store resulted in anyone who purchased the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" in English / Japanese receive the Chinese / Korean version.
This bug has been fixed, but it was not fixed before some players in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand purchased it.
Sony will now refund to anyone who receives the wrong version of the game before 3pm, April 8, Japan Standard Time. Those with public support boxes will automatically process the refund to their PlayStation wallet. Interestingly, players who accidentally received the wrong language version of the game will retain the version even after a refund.
The "Final Fantasy 7 Remastered Edition" released last week was well received by critics. Our own four-star review describes it as "the best combat system in a 3D Final Fantasy game. It's like a live cutscene. It's like playable Omnislash. It's like controlling Advent Children … if Advent Children has more Good story. "
For the rest of the year, Final Fantasy 7 Remastered is unique to PS4.
