Sony has officially announced and revealed a new design for its next-generation VR headset, PlayStation VR2.

The company says its goal was to create a headset that was not only attractive, but also paid close attention to ergonomics and conducted “extensive testing” to ensure a comfortable feel no matter the size of your head.

It also said the design team focused on balancing the headset weight and added a simple adjustable headband. Other features include an adjustable range to place the range area closer or farther from the face, and the stereo headphone jack in the same location as the original PlayStation VR headset.

For the PS VR2 headset, users can expect a lens adjustment dial, slight weight savings, a new built-in motor for headset feedback, and a slimmer design.

Additionally, it features a new vent design, 4K HDR support, graphics rendering, enhanced tracking (like inside-out camera tracking), PS VR2 Sense controllers, and a one-wire setup.

No release date was provided, but the dev kit is already in the hands of the game’s creators.

Development of the headset was announced last year, and Sony said it would share more information about the PS VR2 in the future.
