Sony is negotiating with Konami the purchase of Silen Hill, Metal Gear and Cstlevania

Due to Konami's patent disinterest in giving continuity to its most important video game sagas, and even a period of economic losses, in the last few hours a very interesting rumor has emerged that would give a remarkable turnaround to the game of purchase and patents. According to this report, Sony would be negotiating with Konami the acquisition of the intellectual properties of several of its most recognized sagas, such as Silent Hill, Metal Gear or Castlevania.

According to this rumor emerged from the 4Chan forums (via Gamerant), Sony would be interested in acquiring the Metal Gear brand to make a remake of the original Metal Gear and the subsequent Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, the classics with which Hideo Kojima started this series almost 20 years ago. In the same way, it would enter his plans to a reboot of the Silent Hill series with Hideo Kojima in front, with the possible help of Keiichiro Toyama, creator of Silent Hill and Siren, and Ikumi Nakamura, ex-conceptual artist of Tango Gameworks, responsible for the series The Evil Within and the upcoming Ghost Wire Tokyo.

As for Castlevania, the company would also have a complete reboot in mind with the help of series veterans Koji Igarashi and Shutari Iida. The idea would be adopt a 3D style similar to the Bloodborne concept from the Sony Japan team.

As in any case that we talk about rumors, you have to take the information with some caution, since it is not official. In this case, coming from 4Chan, a not too reliable source, it is convenient to be even more skeptical, if possible. This hypothetical situation should not be used to give hope, for the moment, despite the fact that both companies were collaborating in reviving the Silent Hills franchise with two new installments.
