Secretly behind the scenes, Sony is slowly but surely preparing the ground for the launch of the famous PS5 Pro in the more or less near future.
Although there hasn’t been a real official announcement yet, we know that the arrival of the PS5 Pro is in sight. In the meantime, Sony is making some subtle changes to the current version of its latest generation console.
Sony is gradually preparing for the arrival of the PS5 Pro
Without a word from Sony, we already know a little about the PS5 Pro thanks to leaks and other more credible rumors. It is said to offer a 45% faster GPU, a slightly more powerful CPU and, above all, an exclusive technology called PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution (a kind of DLSS from NVIDIA specifically for the console). Thanks to all this, games displayed in 4K with a stable frame rate of 40 or 60 FPS should be more common. On paper, it could even sustain up to 8K, although not necessarily natively.
In any case, this is what Sony is suggesting by removing the 8K logo from the boxes of the current PS5. While it already shows some signs of fatigue in 4K, the deception regarding its ability to display games at twice the resolution is now officially revealed. We can bet that this logo will return to those of the PS5 Pro in due course.
On this topic, it is not yet possible to know when this update will be released. It could be at the end of the year, during the holiday season. However, Sony does not really have a game at the moment that would justify launching a more powerful console. Some believe that the Japanese giant is waiting for the release of a certain GTA 6 to take advantage of the more robust specs of the PS5 Pro. While we wait for an official announcement, we can only speculate at the moment.
