There are rumors that the studio will deal with the next “Uncharted Sea”.

There seems to be a new team Sony San Diego The studio is responsible for developing the existing PlayStation franchise.

This is based on the LinkedIn profile of Michael Mumbauer, the former boss of the developer, which was discovered by ResetEra. He said that he helped create a “new, all-star” team to engage in AAA-level action adventure games. It seems that this is separate from the Sony San Diego team responsible for the God of War series and MLB: Performance.

The creation of this new studio does not seem to be particularly new. In the “Featured” section of his profile, Mumbauer linked back to many videos, including YouTuber RobinGaming’s video titled “Sony is secretly building a new PlayStation Studio…make “Uncharted 5:!”. This part is planned by the LinkedIn account holder, so this may be an intentional move by Mumbauer, but it may also be the former San Diego studio head being confused with the person reading his profile.

All in all, this is far from official confirmation.

Mumbauer led Sony San Diego from 2007 to 2020 and also served as senior director of visual arts at PlayStation Worldwide Studios. Since leaving the company in November last year, he has not moved anywhere.

The last work in the “Uncharted” series is “Lost Legacy” in 2017. It is not clear how Naughty Dog will participate in the creation of the game. Of course, the studio has been busy working on Part 2 of last year’s “Our Last Part”.

This long-running “Uncharted” movie will also star this year by Spider-Man actor Tom Holland.
