Sony has confirmed that it will buy Bungie, the developer studio known for the Destiny shooter series, for a sum of 3.6 billion US dollars, the equivalent of around 3.2 billion dollars.
Bungie will remain an independent multi-platform studio despite the takeover, SIE boss Jim Ryan writes on PlayStation Blog. This means that games like Destiny will probably not be exclusive to PS4 or PS5 in the future, but will continue to be available for other platforms such as Xbox and PC.
