news Space Marine 2: 5 things I would like to know before starting the game
Discovering a new video game often requires bugs that I personally would have liked to have known before starting Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. This cooperative shooter set in the Game Workshop universe has many secrets to optimize your playtime. Bugs to know before starting the title from Saber Interactive and Focus Home Entertainment
Summary
- Play Space Marine 2 alone
- Let’s stick with story mode
- Don’t do “tests”
- Play multiple Space Marine classes in PvP and PvE
- Neglect of the PvP mode “Forever War”
Play Space Marine 2 alone
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 can be played alone or in cooperation with up to 3 players in Story Mode and Operations Mode, which here serves as PvE (Player versus Environment or Player versus Environment). And it would be a shame to play this video game alone, as it is designed to be experienced in a group. But beyond the simple pleasure of playing It is especially easier to complete the story campaign and the missions in Operations mode with human allies
The reason is simple. Enemies tend to prefer Space Marines controlled by real players. If you are alone, you risk being “angry” by a boss and having all the trouble in the world to deal with it.especially on the highest difficulty levels (Angel of Death for the campaign – Merciless for the operations mode).
Let’s stick with story mode
The scripted campaign with the Adeptus Astartes Demetrian Titus and his companions is a real eye-catcher in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. In the “Easy” and “Normal” difficulty levels, it takes about ten hours to complete. and much more in “Veteran” and “Angel of Death”. While the story mode is excellent, it is not the heart of the experience put together by Sabre Interactive. On the contrary, it is (almost) an appetizer before the main course… Operations mode (PvE) and Eternal War (PvP).
The vast majority of players primarily want to create their own Space Marines and customize them as they see fit. The customization options are truly numerous – from armor, weapons, ornaments, orders (factions), etc. – and all of this costs resources that must be harvested as you play. However, The campaign doesn’t really reward players who complete it, even in “Angel of Death”with the exception of any trophies/achievements associated with it. It is necessary to launch quickly into PvE and PvP modes to obtain these resources, especially if you want to create a character in your image (or not). Attention! You risk spoiling the main story if you start the Operations mode too early.
Don’t do “tests”
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 features many game modes, some more obvious than others. Saber Interactive has equipped its creation with a story mode, a PvE mode (Operations), a PvP mode (Eternal War), as well as a series of experiences available in the Armory Room.
Number: 3 per class of Space Marines, Depending on your results, they grant armory data (x1) and requisition points (x10 + x15). Last important point: it is not possible to farm these tests. Rewards are delivered once and for all. Here are the rewards for the “Trials” according to the rank achieved:
- Rank A: 1 Master Armorsmith Data
- Rank B: 15 requirement points
- Rank C: 10 requirement points
Play multiple Space Marine classes in PvP and PvE
We mentioned this a little earlier, but it never hurts to repeat it again. There are 6 classes of Space Marines available in Operations (PvE) and Eternal War (PvP) modes. Each of them has their own armor, weapons, equipment, and abilities, and only certain cosmetic elements are shared (or not) across classes and even modes.
Classes have their own experience level (varies by mode) and the same goes for all weapons, which are shared by all classes (assuming the weapon is available with them). If you exhaust yourself by playing multiple classes in parallel, you risk doubling/tripling/quadrupling/… the playtime required to reach maximum level with all desired options for a given class. It is highly recommended that you dedicate yourself (at least initially) to a specific class – the class that best suits your playstyle – before flying around and discovering the depth of the Adeptus Astartes.
The 6 Space Marine classes available in PvE and PvP:
- Tactical
- attack
- avant-garde
- Wall
- Sniper
- Difficult
Neglect of the PvP mode “Forever War”
This is a peculiarity of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 compared to other video games that belong more or less to the same genre. Your Space Marines in action (PvE mode) and in Eternal War (PvP mode) are not identical. They share certain items, including cosmetics, but that’s all. Nevertheless, The resources collected in PvP and PvE are cumulative and are therefore available to their players at any time, regardless of the mode. When you know that completing an Operation requires 45 minutes to an hour of play time for 35 Requisition Points (on Minimum difficulty), while a PvP game doesn’t exceed 15 minutes for about fifteen Requisition Points (or even more), the math quickly adds up. If you want to farm Requisition Points to personalize your Space Marines and, above all, quickly unlock other Chapters (factions) of the Adeptus Astartes, PvP is the perfect solution.
