Space Marine 2 is currently only available in Early Access, with the official release scheduled for September 9th. It’s already a hit and clearly has a glorious future ahead of it.
Since September 5th, players who have pre-ordered the Gold and Ultra editions of Space Marine 2 have been able to slay Xenos in the name of the Emperor in the magnificent title developed by Sabre Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. And many have clearly responded by joining the Adeptus Astartes.
Brilliant recruitment campaign for Space Marine 2
Among the major video game releases in September 2024, Space Marine 2 held a special place for many gamers, and especially fans of Warhammer 40,000. Since its announcement, Sabre Interactive’s game has generated enormous excitement, resulting in very good pre-order numbers for the more expensive Gold and Ultra versions, which offer four days early access.
Space Marine 2 has been available in this form since September 5th and at the time of writing it has recorded a nice peak of more than 130,000 concurrent players connected on Steam. If we don’t know the exact numbers on PS5 and Xbox Series, we can bet that these must be good too. With a campaign, a full operations mode and a visibly well-made PvP mode and really entertaining gameplay, the title presents itself as a great success. This therefore heralds a very good start for the official release of the game on September 9th.
Hopefully this will be confirmed in the long term. However, in our own review we lamented a certain lack of content currently available for Space Marine 2. However, as with World War Z, the previous game in the same vein, Saber Interactive already has a well-established roadmap to support its latest baby, including new game modes, equipment, enemies and missions. In any case, the Emperor seems to be looking favorably on this new game in his honor, and that is certainly not to displease fans of Warhammer 40,000.
