What is Marauders game?
Das Setting: In this alternate timeline, World War I never ended. Because the earth has now been completely exploited, mankind has perforce ventured into space – but there are also numerous conflicts. You are a Marauder, i.e. a pirate who is looking for valuable loot here and uses it to make more powerful weapons and equipment. The game is set in the alternative 1990s, but without any bright colors and dungarees, but with a dark Dieselpunk aesthetic.
Of course, gears cannot be missing in this dystopian future.
The gameplay: Let’s tick off the buzzwords first: hardcore shooter, multiplayer, first-person perspective, crafting, and tactical combat. In Marauders you fight your way through the dark world, either alone or in squads of up to four players. Your goal: collect better equipment on dangerous raids, heat up the opponents and then escape alive. What pirates do in space – the space rum is guaranteed afterwards.
The spaceships: In Marauders you not only improve your tactical combat equipment, but also your own spaceship. You can also build it yourself from conquered resources, equip it with stronger weapons and use it to hunt for more loot. According to the official description, you can even conquer other players’ ships and steal them – which of course should also work the other way around, so always be careful! When and where does Marauders appear?
First of all, the shooter should start in Early Access on Steam – in 2022. Owners of the PC Game Pass can then get started, a preview version will also appear in Microsoft’s subscription service. This means that the finished game should also go directly to the library when it is released.
By the way, there should be one soon playable demo be published: According to Team17, this is planned for the games event WASD in London, which runs from April 7th to 9th, 2022.
A final release date for Marauders is not yet known, but it should be late 2023 or early 2024 at the earliest.
