Speedrunner beats levels in 17 seconds

Beats, levels, seconds, Speedrunner

Hitman 3: Slow planning, careful stealth, careful action. In the run of Speedrunner Frote7, only the latter played an important role. His world record run of the Dubai level was over after 17 seconds – successful!

The player made use of the new feature, which allows abbreviations to be unlocked. For example, doors that were previously closed are opened in subsequent runs, so that you can act much faster.

But 17 seconds is a house number. Here you can see the video of the turboassassin:

More cool speed runs

Another speedrunner even managed the level in Hitman 3 in just 16 seconds, but used a trick with the inventory to exit the level even faster. Here you can see Jake Moreton’s Dubai pass:

Even a remarkable run lasted 21 seconds, but it shows more clearly what is happening. The video is from Speedrunner Mendietinha:

Funnily enough, the player has already finished both goals and escaped the level before the in-game announcer can praise him for successfully assassinating the first target.

Speedrun to imitate

The game journalist Jeff Grubb shows that speed runs don’t have to be rocket science, but can also be achieved with a little practice by normal players. Remarkably, he managed to complete the Dubai level in 24 seconds and also shows two failed attempts in his video:

More about Hitman 3

In our test for Hitman 3, editor Dimi is enthusiastic, but also has a need to speak, which he satisfies in the supplementary test video:

In the international press, too, the reviewers are full of praise. Hitman 3 now has an average of 88 out of 100 points on Metacritic. Metacritic users, on the other hand, only give 6.5 out of 10 points, which can be partly explained by negative events around the release.

Shortly before the launch, developer IO Interactive announced that players – unlike previously advertised – would have to buy Hitman 2 again in the Epic Store in order to be able to play the levels of its predecessor in the latest part. A shitstorm among Hitman fans took its course, and the Epic boss also spoke up. Subsequently, IOI reversed the decision. Now owners of Hitman 2 and 3 have to be patient to get the levels from the second part for free.
