Speedrunner breaks Doom Eternal

"Go away! No time. ”A speedrunner has largely let the demons in Doom Eternal be demons and has instead focused on his record hunt.

The well-known Dark Souls speedrunner Distortion2 beat Doom Eternal in an unbelievable 31 minutes and made use of various abbreviations that are not actually intended in the game.

Here's how the player tricked: Distortion2 frequently glitched out of the map to cover large distances through the levels outside the playable area and thus complete the game in 30 minutes and 49 seconds.

He only fought demonsif it was essential for progress. These techniques are perfectly legitimate. The Speedrun runs under the common category "Any%", which allows any tricks, exploits and glitches.

The record only lasted a few days: A largely unknown speed runner from Latvia named Xamide has now broken the world record of the Dark Souls professional. You can check out the current best times at Speedrun.com.

He was 20 seconds faster and finished Doom Eternal in 30 minutes and 29 seconds. Of course, Xamide also did not follow the given paths and did not mess with every demon in the game, but abbreviated wherever possible.

In terms of Doom-Eternal world record, the last word has almost certainly not been spoken.

The two record hunters have already announced that one Best record of less than 30 minutes is literally just a matter of time.

Doom and his speedrunners

Consider that Doom Eternal less than three weeks on the market is. Accordingly, speed runners first have to try things out, track down game errors, develop new strategies and, last but not least, get practice. We cannot therefore begin to estimate where the best mark will be in two or three years.
