If you’ve seen Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, you may have noticed a small game cameo by Insomniac spiderman 2.
Just over a week ago, we got our first look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay, with it finally confirmed that Peter will don the symbiote suit and we’ll be able to play as Miles as well. While that’s definitely exciting for a lot of gamers, the version of Miles that stands out more in everyone’s mind is his animated film version, like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which hit theaters just last week. Fans seem to have noticed that some previously unseen Spider-Man 2 gameplay can be seen while traveling through the Spider-Verse, although it’s easy to miss (thanks Eurogamer).

The clip you can see below shows a very brief moment showing Miles’ friend Ganke (who was also featured in a recent gameplay trailer) playing on a PS5, with gameplay clearly taken from Spider-Man 2. It shows Peter fighting what you might remember from the game’s trailer wearing a Dr. Octopus-like arm, something we haven’t actually seen in the game yet.
At Resetera, fans wondered if the video was new, as they didn’t remember seeing it in a recent game reveal, and Insomniac Games community director James Stevenson later confirmed it was new. While these robotic arms were featured in the original launch trailer, a lot changes during the game’s development, so it’s always possible they’ll be removed.
So far, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 looks sure to be a strong sequel. It’s also going to be bigger, with the game’s creative director recently sharing that the map will double in size compared to the first game, now letting you explore Brooklyn and Queens on top of the original Manhattan map.
