Splatoon 3 It did so well in Japan, in fact it is now the fastest selling game in the country.
Earlier today (September 12), Nintendo Japan said that Splatoon 3 had sold over 3.45 million copies, both physical and digital, in its first three days on sale. keep things in mind, Animal Crossing: New HorizonsOne of Nintendo’s best-selling games, with 1.88 million copies sold in the same time frame. This means that Splatoon 3 sold almost twice as many as New Horizons.
But as industry analyst Daniel Ahmed point out, which is not only the best launch of a Switch game in Japan, but the best launch of any game in Japan. The previous record holder was Pokémon black and white
That’s an incredibly impressive number, and could set up a good launch week for the third entry in the series.
In the UK, Splatoon 3 debuted on the boxed chart, although as GamesIndustry.biz reported, launch sales were actually down 9% compared to the previous entry, but as noted in the report, it was only boxed sales factor, so digital sales may be higher this time.
