Recent job listings Ubisoft seems to indicate dividing cells The remake was written with the modern audience in mind.
Last year, Ubisoft announced that a remake of the original Splinter Cell was in development, from the studio that developed Far Cry 6. Since then, nothing has really been revealed, which is usually normal when it comes to video game announcements. But as PlayStation Universe found out, thanks to a recent screenwriting job listing, we’ve got a lot more insight into how the game will be different from the original.
“Using the first Splinter Cell game as our foundation, we’re rewriting and updating the story for a modern audience,” reads the listing’s description. “We wanted to keep the spirit and themes of the original games and make them more believable while exploring our characters and worlds. As a writer at Ubisoft Toronto, you’ll join the narrative team and help create a cohesive and engaging narrative. Experience a new audience for Splinter Cell fans.”
At the game’s launch, producer Matt West did discuss how the game was specifically a remake rather than a remake, noting how the team wanted to “ensure that the spirit of the early game remains the same, giving early Splinter Cell its all the way. identity.”
It’s also going to be linear like the original game, rather than an open world, so obviously Ubisoft is important in keeping fans of the original happy, but also wants to attract new fans.
Recently, Ubisoft announced a series of games, including a series of Assassin’s Creed Things like the leaked Mirage, Codename Red bringing the series to Japan, Codename Hexe led by former Splinter Cell writer Clint Hocking, and the mobile-only Codename Jade set in China.
