Magic: The Gathering is now seizing many opportunities when it comes to entering into exciting collaborations with other brands. This subclass of card series is called Universe Beyond Collaborations with popular brands like The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park or Stranger Things. Video games are also represented, for example Fortnite or Tomb Raider.
Now MTG is releasing another large series of cards that were created together with Bethesda. The set revolves entirely around the Fallout role-playing game series and introduces a total of four Commander decks – as well as boosters that contain alternative versions of the cards in the decks.
The decks can already be presented. Exactly which cards are inside has only been revealed since February 20th during the so-called spoiler season.
Here you will also find three cards that we can exclusively reveal.

These are the new decks
In total, there will be brand new Commander decks, each with 100 cards that thematically match the commander’s abilities and colors. All maps are in the Fallout style. The four commanders correspond to important characters from the four Fallout role-playing games published by Bethesda: Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
- Dogmeat (Red-Green-White): The best of the good guys leads this deck and relies on a looting mechanic for equipment as well as auras that you use to strengthen creatures. Food and the new scrap metal tokens also play an important role.
- Mothman (Black-Green-Blue): This monstrous deck revolves entirely around the mutated creatures in the wasteland, with the focus on the eerie Mothman from Fallout 76. Mechanically, it’s about further strengthening monsters and using the new radiation markers.
- Caesar (Red-White-Black): If you like to rely on a whole horde of creatures, you should choose the Commander deck based around the unscrupulous leader of the Legion from Fallout: New Vegas. This is about the numerous factions and their leaders in the wasteland.
- Dr. Madison Li (Blue-White-Red): Madison Li has an important role in Fallout 3, but also appears in Fallout 4. She is a scientist and accordingly this is about high-tech weapons and robots, which also belong to the post-apocalyptic fallout world. This deck uses MTG’s Energy mechanic, introduced in 2016.

Magic the Gathering: Fallout – View cards from the new set
Fallout seems to be very popular at the moment. Although there is still no real successor in sight, Bethesda is currently beating the drum. Probably also, since the official Fallout series will start on Netflix very soon. It should start on April 12th. In addition, the Anthology Box, a collector’s edition with seven different Fallout parts, will be released in the USA and Canada on April 11th.
