Bob’s toys independent last month, but it has apparently struck a deal with Microsoft for its next game.
Last month, Toys for Bob announced that it would operate as an independent studio, meaning it can make what it likes without being forced into a Call of Duty project. Of course, this has led to many fans wishing it could continue making Crash Bandicoot games even though it’s no longer owned by Activision Blizzard or Microsoft. Its future remains unclear, but according to a recent report from Window Central’s Jez Cordon, the studio has inked a deal for its first game since independence, and it’s working with Microsoft of all companies.

Corden explained in the report: “Sources previously told me that Toys for Bob’s culture was not aligned with Activision’s often restrictive corporate directives, and they welcomed the opportunity to strike a deal with Microsoft to spin off on an independent basis. out.” In Toys for Bob’s announcement about independence, it did say it was “confident” it would “continue to work closely” with Activision and Microsoft as part of its future, so at least that’s what it appears to be with the latter.

There’s no word yet on what the game Toys for Bob is working on will look like, but it will apparently be similar to games they’ve made in the past. This could mean a range of things like a platformer, a new Crash Bandicoot or Spyro game, or even a take on the Skylanders spin-off Another attempt that sparked the Amiibo craze). I personally wouldn’t bet on a game that requires you to buy actual toys, those days seem to be behind us, although I don’t think a platformer is out of the question. In the meantime, you’ll just have to wait and see.
