seems to be new justification In development, at the latest casually announced Square Enix Investor briefing.
As shared on Resetera (thanks to PCGamesN), Square Enix has confirmed from its recent investor briefing that a new Just Cause game is in the works, though little has been revealed other than the fact that it exists any other information.
“Our materials provide an overview and details of the deal, but I note that its primary purpose is to reposition our portfolio,” the briefing reads, discussing the recent sale of a range of IP and studios at surprisingly low prices . “We have revisited our studio and game portfolio in particular from the perspective of enhancing our online game offerings developed for the North American and European markets.
“We want to focus on creating new titles that align with our strategy, including titles that leverage new IP. The Just Cause franchise will remain our IP, and we’re working on developing new titles within the franchise.”
Titles like Just Cause, life is weirdand pioneer These are some Western-developed games that Square Enix decided to keep. So it’s not entirely surprising that a new just cause is in development.
This new Just Cause, whether Just Cause 5 or some kind of spin-off, is likely to be developed at the New York branch of developer Avalanche Studios. Back in 2020, developers were hiring for a large AAA project that was specifically dealing with open-world gaming experiences.
The latest entry in the series is Just Cause 4 released in 2018, at least if you don’t count Just Cause: Mobile. It’s been four years since we last stepped into the series’ action world, which means the sequel is a bit late.
