The tweet said: “This update “restores the ancient gameplay when you go through five levels of demon battles and challenge Gebel’s deadly boss”, thus attracting Metroidvania players who have grown up with the original name.
Considering that Bloodstained is the original idea of Igarashi Koji, the former producer of the Castlevania series, it does make sense.
In its own way, “Blood” is seen as the spiritual successor to Konami’s defined type of series.
If you don’t know, then Bloodstained has been released for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch in 2019 and has sold more than 1,000,000 copies since its release.
The player assumes the role of Miriam, an orphan cursed and scarred by an alchemist, causing her body to slowly crystallize.
In order to save humanity (and herself), Miriam must fight in the castle while collecting, crafting and unlocking various weapons, equipment and loot to defeat the summoner Gebel and the countless minions and hell leaders waiting.
The new update further increases the gaming experience and will be available to all players in January 2021.
