The shooter sequel STALKER 2 by the Ukraine-based developers of GSC Game World was planned for the end of the year, but the invasion of the Russian military has now pushed this project into the background. Now the developers have spoken with a video message.
The war in Ukraine (logically) has an impact on the Ukrainian development studio GSC Game World, which actually wanted to focus on the new shooter STALKER 2 – Heart of Chernobyl in order to release it in December 2022. Within just a week, this project has receded into the background due to the Russian invasion of the country and the acts of war.
As a result, there were a number of queries about how the developer’s employees were doing in the meantime – and now the studio is answering the query with a video that leaves an impression.
Originally, they wanted to work on a behind-the-scenes video for the motion capture footage of the game, but everything has changed in the country since then. Ukraine must defend itself against the invaders, that is obviously the price of freedom.
For this reason, the further development of STALKER 2 is put on hold, but this should be resumed at a later date. When exactly? After Ukraine’s victory, that’s the unequivocal answer in the video that you can watch below.
The clip shows some devastating impressions of the war so far, including a number of rocket hits, including in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. GSC Game World is located in Kyiv.
