STALKER 2 – Heart of Chornobyl: First sales mark already cracked

The player numbers on Steam already bode well for STALKER 2 – and now the shooter has already broken the first sales mark.

STALKER 2 – Heart of Chornobyl was in development for many years and has gone through many depths. Recently there have been many postponements due to the war in Ukraine, but the development studio GSC Game World has now completed the work after the many delays and was able to publish the shooter last week.

Although not all that glitters is gold, the player numbers on Steam already promise a good start for the title. This is now also reflected in the first official announcement of sales figures, because STALKER 2 has already broken the first relevant mark.

Within the first three days after its release, STALKER 2 sold more than a million copies; The development studio has now announced this via the social media service X (formerly Twitter). At the same time, they promised that this was “just the beginning of an unforgettable adventure.”

On the day of release, the studio admitted that there were still a few problems with the shooter that needed to be fixed, but promised to address everything as quickly as possible. For this purpose, the feedback from the players is continuously evaluated. There should be plenty of that, because according to SteamDB, the peak number of simultaneous players was almost 118,000 and the 100,000 gamer mark is regularly broken.

This is all the more impressive when you consider that these player numbers do not even cover the presumably numerous additional gamers who are also there via PC Games Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The title was available there as a game subscription right at launch.
