It’s hard to imagine how difficult it must be for a Ukrainian development studio to develop a game during the Russian attack. This is now reflected in the price.
Everyone can imagine that STALKER 2 – Heart of Chornobyl has not had an easy journey. Due to the attack by Russia on Ukraine, the entire development of the long-awaited game had to be stopped completely at times, GSC Game World had to be completely reorganized and, among other things, had to open branches in neighboring countries.
The additional effort is now also reflected in the price, because like GSC Game World via Twitter announced, the Ultimate Edition will be more expensive than expected. As a consolation: this is the most expensive version of the game anyway, so a little more probably doesn’t make the cabbage fat. In any case, it is certain that the price of the Ultimate Edition will be increased from 339 to 379 US dollars from February 21st. All other editions are not affected by the price increase until further notice.
After all, you get a pretty comprehensive package for the money, which already preordered can be. In addition to the game, you will receive a whole range of goodies, including a stalker figure, a stylish backpack, a lamp and lots of small items from key rings to art books.
It is still unclear when STALKER 2 – Heart of Chornobyl will be released. Currently, at least the statement still holds that the game will see the light of day this year, but that can change at any time due to the current situation. After all, there was a teaser as a sign of life last December, so there is still hope.
