In 2007 – and thus 13 years ago – the shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. released. In 2010 developer GSC Game World subsequently announced a successor, but this was initially discontinued in 2012. Meanwhile the work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 but started again long ago.
Already in 2018 there were first reports that the continuation of the shooter franchise is now in the works again. Technically, the new title will fall back on Unreal Engine 4 and has been scheduled for 2021. In the absence of further reports, however, initial speculations were slowly but surely noisy as to how the title really is.
The all-clear is now clear because S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 continues to advance and the developers are now giving a real sign of life via Twitter. The first screenshot from the shooter sequel was published there, which you can see at the beginning of this message. The envisaged release period for 2021 therefore seems to be within the realm of possibility, especially since the developers have planned a number of other comments on the title for the rest of 2020.
"The second chapter of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. saga will be our most ambitious game to date. It will do justice to the legendary legacy," the men also stoke high expectations of the game.
