Star Citizen has been postponing more and more of its features for months. Even the latest update of the roadmap is not very well received by fans. Before the release of Alpha 3.9, the developer Cloud Imperium Games announced that the Planet Crusader planned for Update 4.0 would no longer be completed in time, and thus the biggest feature of the patch is eliminated.
What can no longer do in Alpha 4.0?
- Crusader: The last remaining planet in the Stanton system and the game's first gas giant.
- Orison Landing Zone: The landing zone of Crusader, which can best be compared to the cloud city Bespin from Star Wars.
- Better death animations: While the possibility of moving lifeless bodies should still appear in 4.0, better death animations are delayed on Alpha 4.1.
- Server to Client Actor Networking Rework: By focusing on server meshing, this point is also moved to version 4.1.
Since the Stanton star system is still not complete after the release of version 4.0, some fans are now asking a renaming to version 3.10. The Reddit user Chiffmonkey, for example, received more than 113 upvotes with the following statement:
"3.10 and 3.11. The update doesn't deserve to be called 4.0 if we still don't have the finished Stanton system."

What comes with Alpha 4.0?
It's not just postponed. Along with the roadmap update, Cloud Imperium Games has also announced new content for version 4.0. If there are no further shifts, there are the following content in summer 2020:
- Cutlass Blue (New): The rework of the police variant of the Drake Cutlass
- New Babbage – More Shops (New): New shops selling souvenirs, snacks and various technical equipment.
- Elevator panels (new): In the future, elevators will no longer be operated with buttons, but with a touchscreen.
- Heightmap improvements (new): The planets and moons are becoming more detailed.
- Client Eddie Parr: A new NPC that gives you missions.
- Grim Hex improvements: The space station for outlaws is being revised.
- AI improvements: The NPCs will be able to use more weapons on the ground and take cover.
- New activation mechanism: The target acquisition of your spaceship will work differently in the future.
- Body pull: You can move the bodies of finished enemies.
- High speed battles: The behavior of the ships at high speeds is changed.

Star Citizen – These features will continue in 2020 and 2021
Corona is a reason, but not the only one
Although the team said in the past that Corona did not have a major impact on the development of the game, they are given Switch to home office now as one of the reasons for the delay. Other are the new focus on the rework of GrimHex, as well as the additional time needed to work on the city of New Babbage, which appears with 3.9.
Star Citizen is still a successful project. It now has a bigger budget than Star Wars Episode 9. The game is doing so well that our plus editor Peter Bathge believes it is far too successful for a quick release.
