Star Citizen is a game that regularly makes headlines with absurdly large numbers. Most recently, for example, because a player spent around 26,000 dollars to build the perfect PC setup for the game.
Or because more than a million players logged in in 2022 and spent a total of over 46 million hours in the alpha.
Now a new sum is causing a sensation, namely the proud amount of exactly 53,121.60 dollars. That’s exactly how much the new bundle with all Star Citizen spaceships costs!
280 dollars per ship on average
The so-called Ambassador 2954 Pack
contains almost every Star Citizen spaceship and ground vehicle released and announced to date, as well as some bonus items. A total of around 180 vehicles are includedalmost 160 of them are already playable and controllable, the rest are currently in development.
On top of that there is one Lifetime insurance for all ships – Buyers always receive a free replacement of the basic model if it is lost or destroyed. Even if the thing crash-lands 50 times!
Normal space pilots without separately purchased insurance, on the other hand, will probably have to buy ships they have earned for in-game currency again and again if they break down.
A package only for the elite
Anyone who puts the ridiculous sum on the table will suddenly have a whole armada of ships in their inventory, some of them huge – to fly them all at the same time, you would probably need thousands of players. Because the destroyer Javelin alone is a capital ship with a permitted crew of well over a dozen users!
So it’s also clear: the 50,000 euro bundle is not aimed at normal end customersbut rich collectors and supporters who can afford it.
This is already evident from the fact that only players from the concierge program are allowed to purchase. And to be a concierge, you have to have already spent at least 1,000 dollars on Star Citizen.
But even from there it’s still a big leap to the question: “Do I buy an upper mid-range electric car with full equipment or a spaceship package?”, as GameStar moderator godzilla notes.
The most expensive game in the world
Most recently, Star Citizen caused a sensation in October 2023 with impressive next-gen technology, gameplay from the story campaign Squadron 42, base building, character editor and much more.
Our experts Peter and KnebelTV have analyzed what all of these things mean for the future of the game:

Star Citizen finally feels like a real game!
In total, Star Citizen has so far raised more than 500 million dollars via crowdfunding, making it the most expensive game in the world.
The ambitions are as legendary as they are controversial: There should be a fully simulated galaxy with visitable planets and space stations, dynamic trading, faction wars, piracy and seamless transitions from ship to foot – all without loading times.
