As DualShockers points out, this is the last reported figure of 6 million.
The single-person team Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone's PC team developed the Harvest Moon-style RPG-sim over four years. Barone brought the game to Steam Greenlight in 2012 to assess interest in the game.
It was originally released by Chucklefish and later on multiple platforms including mobile devices. Finally, a multiplayer option was added.
The game has been updated several times, most recently in November with an updated version of 1.4. It adds new content and features, improves the quality of life, and offers 14-hearted activities for spouses (marry Elliott – believe me).
Stardew Valley is a great game, and if you haven't tried it already, you should do it. I spent 642 hours in this game, and 51.2 hours in the past two weeks alone. Skyrim and Morrowind are the most time spent in the game. I've been playing MMO games since 2009 and we won't discuss the hours I spent in Lotro. I'm sure this is an absurd number.
