Filming on “Star Trek: Section 31” has finally begun. And we finally know who will be starring alongside Michelle Yeoh in the “Star Trek: Discovery” spin-off.
After “Star Trek: Section 31” was initially supposed to be a spin-off series from “Star Trek: Discovery”, it has been clear for a while now that Michelle Yeoh will play the lead in a spin-off film instead. It is finally known that production has started in Toronto and who will be starring alongside Philippa Georgiou.
Familiar faces from “Ted Lasso”, “Power”, “One Piece” and Co.
Paramount+ has revealed that “Section 31” stars Omari Hardwick (“Power”), Kacey Rohl (“Hannibal”), Sam Richardson (“Ted Lasso,” “Veep”), Sven Ruygrok (“One Piece”), Robert Kazinsky (“EastEnders”), Humberly Gonzalez (“Ginny & Georgia”) and James Hiroyuki Liao (“Barry”) will star in the Star Trek film.
In a statement, Alex Kurtzman, the film’s executive producer, announced that he was excited about the new faces in the Star Trek universe (via TVLine).
And we’re off to the races! We’re thrilled that Star Trek: Section 31 has begun filming. We welcome our incredible new characters to join our beloved Michelle Yeoh on her next wild adventure in the Trek universe.

The screenplay is by Craig Sweeney and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. In addition to Kurtzman, executive producers include lead actress Michelle Yeoh, Sweeny, Osunsanmi, Aaron Baiers, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.
