After more than two years and 25 content updates deployed, EA and Dice end tracking Star Wars Battlefront II. The game now hosts a final burst of new features with the update dedicated to the Battle of Scarif, from the film Rogue one.
The announcement is shared in a new community transmission developers. First novelty: the cards of the Age of Rebellion, namely Hoth, Death Star II, Yavin IV, Tatooine, and therefore Scarif, are added to the Instant Action and Supremacy modes. Regarding the latter, it is specified that the games on these cards are only played on the ground. Coop mode is also enhanced with three maps, namely Scarif, the MC85 stellar cruiser and the Resurgent class cruiser, and becomes playable offline with AI-controlled allies via the Instant Action menu. Finally, the Heroic Confrontation and Hero Confrontation modes welcome the Crait and Scarif cards. On the cosmetic side, there are new appearances for Rey, Kylo Ren, Emperor Palpatine and Dark Maul, which you can discover in the trailer below.
After this update, in-game challenges and recurring events (double XP type) will continue to appear, but there will be no more content added. A page is turning, just like Battlefield V which will host its last big update this summer. Dice should logically focus on the next Battlefield, expected in 2021.
