Fans of classic Star Wars games can look forward to the unexpected comeback of a retro title. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is coming as a new edition for all current platforms.
Star Wars Outlaws is the next big title in the sci-fi universe from Ubisoft, but you can sweeten the wait until then with a classic. Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr have today announced, completely unexpectedly, the comeback of the retro title Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, which was originally released in 2002 for GameCube and PlayStation 2.
Now comes an updated version of the action game, which will be available from August 1, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam). Aspyr’s title is now a true remaster with platform-specific features, achievements and more.
For example, there will be noticeably improved environments and new lighting effects, and the PS5 will also support the DualSense controller with special features such as the use of adaptive trigger effects and light bar support. If you complete the title 100 percent, you can even unlock the cult figure Boba Fett as a true Star Wars fan.
As a refresher, the game basically tells the story of Jango Fett and how he was chosen to work for Darth Tyranus before becoming the blueprint for the Republic’s clone army. Some well-known Star Wars locations are also visited in the game, which is essentially a third-person shooter with some adventure elements.
The classic Star Wars: Bounty Hunter has now been somewhat surprisingly announced as a new edition for all current platforms.
