After the announcement of Star Wars Eclipse, there was great joy among fans of the franchise, after all, a promising narrative title is on the agenda. The disillusionment followed a few later when it was said that the publication could be noticeably postponed. The developers have now commented on this.
When the Heavy Rain creators of Quantic Dream Star Wars Eclipse first introduced, no release date was actually given, but the general assumption was that the game would probably be released sometime between 2023 and 2025. A little later, speculation circulated based on insider information that such a plan might already have been thwarted. Due to alleged problems in acquiring new employees for the project, the release of the promising title may even be delayed until 2028.
Since then, this rumor and the game in general have calmed down at first, but now these speculations are calling the developers into action. In conversation with GamesRadar
Quantic Dream is now announcing that the game could not have been postponed at all because there simply was no release date. This is also true insofar as the studio emphasized at the presentation at the Game Awards 2021 that Star Wars Eclipse is still in a very early stage.
Furthermore, the speaker also addressed the speculation that Quantic Dream would simply not find any staff who wanted to work for the studio. In this regard, he refers to the increase in the number of employees by 50 percent in 2021 alone. Job advertisements, especially for senior positions, could therefore mislead about the actual circumstances.
It remains unclear when Star Wars Eclipse will appear. The action-adventure set in the High Republic era could still be released in 2028, but maybe a few years earlier. We’ll keep you up to date.
