News culture Star Wars fans are blinded: They hated the latest Disney+ series so much that they watched a movie with almost the same name
If you want further proof that Star Wars “fans” don’t always have all the lights on, here’s an event you might like! To protest the latest Disney+ series, some fans mistakenly attacked a film that has nothing to do with the George Lucas universe.
Star Wars disappoints some fans
Since Disney took over the Star Wars saga, it is enough to say that the projects were not really in agreement. The film trilogy did not necessarily convince everyone, and we cannot yet say anything about the quality of the released series Disney+ was very constant. Except, apart, excepted The Mandalorian
If you pay close attention to what is happening in a galaxy far, far away, you can’t miss the release of The Acolyte. This series, which has been broadcast on Disney+ since June 4, is set in the time of the High Republic, several centuries before the birth of Anakin Skywalker. But while the trailers looked like they could reveal something promising, The result does not seem to be unanimous among the fans.
Some viewers should open their eyes
As is often the case with Star Wars fans, it didn’t take long for them to start opening the floodgates to their tear ducts. While the series has only aired three episodes so far (including two in one go on release day), The Acolyte is currently undergoing a bombardment campaign on all websites that allow it. This will display the series a rating of 14% for the public (compared to 84% among critics) on Rotten tomatoes. A practice as ridiculous as it is common when an element does not please certain fans (in general: the presence of some form of progressiveness or a detail that compromises the coherence of the universe), but which took this time – that’s an even funnier twist.
In fact, in their wave of hatred that would make the protagonists they are supposed to cherish shudder, Star Wars fans have this time attacked a film that has nothing to do with the stories of power and the lightsaber. So continue Rotten tomatoes, Jon Hewitt’s 2008 film Acolytes received a 33% rating from viewerscompared to 75% for criticism. Obviously, all current reviews have nothing to do with this thriller and only denounce the supposedly poor quality of the Star Wars series at the wrong place. However, it’s hard to take these criticisms seriously when you see that their authors aren’t even able to point them to the correct story. At the moment, Rotten Tomatoes seems to be starting to remove affected reviews from the Acolytes movie page, but the rating is still much lower than it was before the series was released.
