Oops, another patch? Shortly before the release of the old-gen version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Respawn has released another patch, primarily for PC, but also for consoles.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been on the market for almost a year and a half, but is now getting another extensive patch. This is of course also due to the fact that the version for PS4 and Xbox One will be released in a few days, on September 17th to be precise, and there have apparently been a number of optimizations that are also useful for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Patch 9 is primarily working on the performance on the PC, which was not exactly great from the start. The hated Denuvo DRM copy protection is also being removed. In addition, an upcoming PS5 update will allow the save file to be transferred from the upcoming PS4 version of the game to the PS5 version.
Here is an overview of the most important new features in Patch 9:
-
Framerate improvements for various hardware configurations
-
Smoother gameplay with fixes for various framerate issues
-
Optimized Ray Tracing CPU usage and better scaling Ray Tracing for high-end GPUs
-
Removal of Denuvo DRM
-
Various bug fixes, including improved mouse and keyboard controls in many in-game menus
-
Fixes rare crashes and collision issues
While the patch primarily improves performance on the PC, there are also optimizations for the console versions. The complete patch notes for Update 9 You can check out Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Steam.
