Star Wars Outlaws draws inspiration from the best
Ubisoft announces that its upcoming game Star Wars Outlaws will feature a reputation system similar to that of GTA, offering a new dynamic for fans of the Star Wars universe. This system introduces six levels of fame, ranging from low to extreme, where players will face bounty hunters and death troopers.
Creative Director Julian Gerighty explained that the game will feature a reputation system where the player’s actions will affect their relationships with different criminal factions. Missions completed for one faction could worsen relations with others, adding a strategic layer and consequence to every player decision. In addition, the more players engage in criminal activities, the more attention they attract from the Empire.
Inspired by GTA’s research system, the game will introduce notoriety levels that will determine the intensity of the Empire’s retaliation. As the player commits crimes, he will be hunted by Death Troopers and potentially even more dangerous enemies. This mechanic promises to keep the tension constant and force players to evaluate each action. Perhaps a Sith Inquisitor in the final level? Surprise!
Outlaws is characterized by its aim to combine the exploration of the Star Wars universe with the freedom and interactivity of an open world. Players can navigate between different planets, engage in space and ground combat, and choose their own path in this vast universe.
