Star Wars Outlaws was launched a few weeks ago with great expectations, but these were ultimately not fulfilled. Ubisoft itself has now confirmed this.
The company has now presented a new business report in which it has also commented on the performance of the sci-fi action game Star Wars Outlaws, for which it had extremely high expectations. However, these were disappointed, as Ubisoft itself now admits.
The statement reads: “Despite solid reviews (Metacritic 76) and user ratings in the first-party and Epic Store (3.9/5), reflecting an immersive and authentic Star Wars universe, the initial sales of Star Wars Outlaws proved weaker than expected.”
How far Star Wars Outlaws fell short of the internal goals was not initially made public. However, the company is now working on evaluating player feedback and, based on this, releasing improvements to the game in a series of updates. These should also result in a significantly optimized gaming experience, which is expected to reach a larger target group over the course of the Christmas season.”
