Massive Entertainment decided to take a stand on the “who shot first, Han or Greedo” debate in Star Wars: Outlaws and quickly proved themselves wrong.

Just about every Star Wars fan has an opinion on whether Han Solo or Greedo shot first in Star Wars: A New Hope. It’s an age-old debate, and if you love good storytelling then the answer is definitely right, however, as the film’s creator George Lucas has always been a fan of rewrites and tweaks, Greedo shot first in subsequent versions of the film. Before Lucas made his completely unnecessary changes, Han Solo shot first in the original film, which was important because he wasn’t a hero yet, and it allowed him to continue to develop his character arc (storyline, a new concept). But Massive Entertainment decided to go with the technical specifications in Star Wars: Outlaws, and Greedo shot first.

In the latest Star Wars game, you can actually visit the Mos Eisley Cantina, because of course you can, and as one fan on the game’s subreddit discovered, if you head to the booth where Han and Greedo have their famous interaction, you’ll see a blaster mark on the side where Han is sitting. This obviously means that Greedo shot first, because he would have definitely missed, so Han could have fired back. This is wrong! It’s wrong for the reasons stated above, and I won’t listen to any other point of view, because when have Star Wars fans ever changed their minds about anything?

Still, it’s more of a fun little Easter egg for fans to discover as they fly from planet to planet that ultimately doesn’t matter in the greater scheme of things. Besides, the game can go wrong and still be pretty good, as our own Jim showed when he gave the game 4/5 stars in his review.
