Stardew Valley is and will remain a success story. Since the release in 2016, the farm simulation has enjoyed unbroken popularity, as the player numbers on Steam show. But despite regular content updates, at some point you explored every corner of the main game, chatted with every resident and harvested everything that the fields had to offer.
All the better that there is the free expanded mod, which has now been released in a new version and brings a lot of innovations with it. The modder »FlashShifter« is responsible for the passionate project.
Fresh content for hardworking farmers
The extensive fan add-on is based on Stardew Valley 1.5, so you need the latest version of the base game. If you want to read the changes of the last official update again, you will find an overview here:

The motto for the content of the Expanded Mod is »More of everything« – there is hardly an area of the game that remains untouched. Even the earlier version of the expanded mod was able to convince many players who showed their love for the fan addon on Reddit announce. Now there is even more content.
The game world is expanded with five new maps. Only three of them are named by the modder, you should come across the remaining two areas yourself. Of course, the social aspect of farm life is also taken into account: New NPCs and over twenty new character events are waiting to be discovered by you.
Romance is also provided: If you want, you can even marry the magician later in the game, who usually locks himself in his tower and only sets foot in front of the door during festivities. There is also a new series of quests later in the game that deals with magic.

What else does the mod offer?
Apart from maps, characters and the magical romance, the changes are extensive. You can find the unabridged version in the developer post on Reddit. Here are a few more highlights in the overview:

- New, powerful potions: Gravity Elixir, Lightning Elixir, Aegis Elixir and Barbarian Elixir
- New portraits and lines of dialogue for the magician

- With Galdora there is a completely new continent, for which a UI was even designed
- Numerous price adjustments for items across all categories
Beware of owners of previous versions: Do you already have an older version of the expanded mod installed? Then you should be careful, as the upgrade can lead to visual and playful bugs. The creator emphasizes that it is not absolutely necessary to start a new game. However, if you want to be on the safe side, you should still think about a restart.
