Traditionally, the console and mobile versions of Stardew Valley have always lagged a bit behind the current PC version. But now non-PC players can also enjoy the new content in patch 1.6, just 8 months after the original release.
Almost casually, developer Eric Barone aka ConcernedApe informs on X about the release date. From November 4th, all players will finally have access to version 1.6. More precisely, to version number 1.6.9, which will be released on PC at the same time.
When asked whether the new content of the patch can be experienced with an existing save game, Barone reassures the fans.
“You can experience almost anything new with an existing save game, but if you’re interested in starting a new farm, now would be the time. For example, some of the new things are different in Year 1 than in Year 2+. Plus, starting a new farm is fun, isn’t it?”
With a fresh start, you could also try out the new farm map, which this time focuses on animal breeding. A new type of blue grass that only grows on this farm tastes particularly good to your animals, and you get a chicken coop and two chickens right from the start.

The list of new features is actually quite impressive. In addition to the three-day desert festival, two new mini fishing events and a completely new environmental event will be added to the game in the summer. In addition, the Mastery system extends existing skills beyond level 10 and provides you with additional abilities and items in the endgame. There are also new seeds, machines, pets and much more.
