It’s a well-known fact that nobody in space can hear you scream, but at least here on Earth the wailing was very loud when Starfield was surprisingly pushed back from 2022 to 2023. And after that, it went dark in the galaxy: when would Bethesda’s role-playing epic come out? In the spring? In summer? Or not at all?
In a brand new trailer, Bethesda chief developer Todd Howard finally gives a final answer: Starfield won’t be released until 2027.
Just kidding, this thing is coming 6. September 2023, so just in time for the start of the autumn business in a few months. cool right?
If you want to shorten the waiting time, there’s another date that you can mark on your calendar. A so-called Starfield Direct will take place on June 11, 2023, i.e. a large live stream that promises you a detailed deep dive into the game and its development. You can see the full trailer here:

Is the release realistic?
Starfield was originally slated for release in last fall’s store, but Bethesda delayed the game to ensure a smooth release. A clear sign that the studio has learned from the problematic release of Fallout 76.
Based on the information available so far, we consider the release in autumn 2023 to be quite realistic, because a) otherwise Bethesda would have to cope with two Christmas sales without strong game candidates apart from The Elder Scrolls Online and b) one year of additional development would have to be sufficient, a game originally planned for 2022 to bring course.
But what do you think? Are you looking forward to it like little slivers of space or do you remain skeptical whether we have to expect another postponement?
