- Notice: Spoilers for a Starfield side quest
It’s been just over a year since Starfield was released. You could say that’s more than enough time to have your entire universe explored. This statement is true for some people, but for most there is still a lot to explore. And precisely the reference that concerns us today could be one of them.
There is a Starfield side mission that hides a double surprise: a mega reference to Batman and several interesting rewards. I’m talking about one of the best armor in the game and one of the best free ships that you can get when you start the adventure. It is activated by finding a tablet called “Secret Post!” in any enemy body of the first missions.
The reference to Batman becomes increasingly evident as you progress in the mission: a base full of traps and tests in which you find audios that describe a vigilante who has been succeeded by several people over the years. And all of them have had to earn their position after demonstrating both their ability and certain moral values.
It becomes completely evident when you reach the end of the installation and find a base that has all the elements of a Batcave: the Bladeguda ship as if it were the Batala, the Matis suit in a display like Batman’s suits and finally an area with the Batcomputer, which could not be more similar to the one we have seen in movies, series, comics and video games.
Finally, various mission texts reveal characteristic details: Batman’s no-kill moral line and his famous data-wiping and Batcave self-destruct protocol. The latter has had different names. In Starfield it is called Scorched Earth and in Arkham Knight it was Batfall. The mission is about the succession of the role of the vigilante.
