Recently, the rumor mill surrounding Microsoft has really been bubbling away. Accordingly, a number of Xbox exclusive games will now also appear for the competing PlayStation 5. In one case, however, a renowned insider is now revising these speculations: Starfield.
Is Microsoft actually sw itching to a multiplatform strategy and bringing a number of previous Xbox exclusive games to competing consoles such as the PlayStation 5 in the future? There should be more clarity in this regard in the new week, because then there will be a corresponding business update from Microsoft about the future direction of console gaming.
By and large, industry experts and insiders stick to the latest rumors: Significantly more Microsoft games will also be available for other platforms in the future. However, this is not supposed to be the case in one specific case: the sci-fi epic Starfield from Bethesda.
Earlier this week, the usually well-informed insider NateTheHate reported that Starfield would also be available for the PlayStation 5. He took up a previous report on this matter and emphasized that it was accurate. But it may not be quite like that after all!
NateTheHate has now spoken out in another tweet and says that he has consulted his reliable sources again. The information that Starfield will definitely be released for the PlayStation 5 is therefore incorrect. He still won’t delete the old tweet; he takes responsibility for the initially incorrect information.
But the insider remains convinced on another point: There is something in all the reports about Microsoft’s new multiplatform orientation – and so the business update will be eagerly awaited in the new week. It could be clarified there whether, for example, the new Indiana Jones or the Xbox-exclusive Gears series will also make the PlayStation unsafe in the future.
Tom Warren continues to follow this line The Vergeaccording to which Microsoft will present the new strategy shortly.
