Starfield: Insiders affirm Xbox exclusivity + screenshot leaks

affirm, exclusivity, Insiders, leaks, screenshot, Starfield, Xbox

Even before The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda wants to cause a sensation with the sci-fi epic Starfield. There is now plenty of new speculation about the bearer of hope. Among other things, it says that the title will unfortunately be really Xbox-exclusive on consoles.

After the takeover of Bethesda by Microsoft, there was a lot of speculation about when new games from the cult developer will only appear for the Xbox platforms and avoid the PlayStation. Starfield had been confirmed prior to the takeover, but signs are growing that the sci-fi epic will already skip the PS5.

At least that is what several usually very well-informed insiders and leakers are claiming. One of them is the well-connected Jeff Grubb from GamesBeat, who often hits the mark and emphasizes: “Starfield is exclusive to Xbox and PC. End of story. I can attest that.”

Later that day, Mark Medina of the US colleague from IGN jumped on the bandwagon and announced in a similar message that Starfield is actually reserved for PC and Xbox – the platforms on which Microsoft is pushing its Game Pass. Both insiders did not reveal a source, but they are evidently secure enough to present the information as completely true. In view of the earlier statements of the two connoisseurs, these should definitely have weight, even if official confirmation is still pending. There could be an announcement in a few weeks as part of the digital E3.

Meanwhile, another leak is also causing a stir around the game, because the first screenshots from an earlier version of Starfield have now reached the network. Bethesda itself has so far been closed in this regard and has not shown any official gameplay in image form. Accordingly, the screenshots now convey first impressions, even if optimizations may have been made in the meantime.

Accordingly, the game could possibly be played in both first and third person perspectives. Various parameters such as oxygen reserves, health points and weapons are displayed on the HUD.
