According to a brand new release date trailer, Starfield will release on September 6, 2023.
In this trailer, not only do we get a cool movie teasing some space mysteries, we also get a quick update from Todd Howard himself, as he reveals that the Starfield Direct will take place on June 11. This will apparently bring viewers to “dive in” months before the game’s release.
Another surprise came from the appearance of a Tim Lamb, who appeared in the “Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion” making video. While this is clearly a well-choreographed marketing video with a fine-tooth comb, you’ll love the Pip Boy statue in the background.
For those eager to play the game, this release date is sure to be a mixed bag, something Howard himself touches on in the video. However, you can almost feel the collective sigh of relief from the developers of other games that will be released around the same time as Starfield’s initial release period, which is the first six months of 2023. Games like Redfall are gaining breathing room that previously looked like they might have been suffocated by Starfield’s huge release.
