State of Decay 3 reached its peak during the Xbox Games Showcase conference, and from now on we can learn a little more about this game that is highly anticipated by zombie fans.
After an uncertain development phase, State of Decay 3 was finally revealed at the last Xbox Games Showcase, with a new trailer. This third work in the survival series developed by Undead Labs seems to be on a larger scale, with a larger open world. What else do we know about it?

Philip Holt, studio head of Undead Labs, shared important details about the development of the game in an interview with XboxWire
The focus in State of Decay 3 is on independent exploration and player cooperation. Holt explains that the trailer introduces four player characters who start in different places in the world to highlight the game’s new scale. This setup suggests that players will be able to adventure much more freely than before, with fewer geographical restrictions than in State of Decay 2.
One of the announced strengths is the integration of cooperative events. Here, players can experience scenarios similar to those in the trailer, strengthening the narrative aspect of the game while maintaining freedom of action. This indicates an effort to balance the narrative and the gaming experience, offering both a compelling story and dynamic interactions in a persistent universe. Finally, the open world is announced as “much bigger”.
Although State of Decay 3 doesn’t have an official release date yet, it’s confirmed that it will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. And included in Xbox Game Pass from day one.
