To know the future of Steam, very often SteamDB is positioned as an oracle. Indeed the analysis tool created by Pavel Djundik (without counting the famous SteamStatus) is an incredible platform to understand and analyze the data transmitted (or not) by Valve.
So on his Twitter account here is what Pavel thinks he found:
Valve is working on loyalty awards / rewards. It has a point system, and a system to add reactions to user reviews.
Also includes reward items, redeeming points for badge levels, and possiblity game discounts.

Generally the gentleman often just falls so one might think that there is indeed something being prepared on this side.
Always very discreet about its future, it's a safe bet that Valve will not comment. All that remains is to patiently wait for a disclosure (as for the Roswell Aliens, or not).
