The steam roller Steam shows no signs of fatigue. We’re definitely seeing that with this new player count record!
This weekend, if we are to believe SteamDBSaint Gabe Newell’s Steam platform has actually reached a new symbolic threshold. Thank you (among others) Helldivers 2 and Palworld?
Steam heats the counters again
The fact is: Steam is THE indispensable platform on the PC. It owes this privileged status to giants like Counter-Strike, but also to numerous promotional periods and free game offers. So the well-known SteamDB informs us that the Valve property has recorded a new and impressive record. This is about the number of simultaneously connected players, which has exceeded the symbolic threshold of 34 million here this Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 2 p.m.!
SteamDB also cracked the top 100 games with the highest engagement in this record. On the podium we find the unbeatable games Counter-Strike 2, DOTA and PUBG: Battlegrounds. Two phenomenal titles released this year also performed well, as you can see below in the top 10 most played games on Steam:
- Counter-Strike 2: current high at around 1.4 million
- DOTA 2: 710,000
- PUBG: 600,000
- Helldivers 2: 430,000
- Apex Legends: 420,000
- Hell: Bladepoint: 300,000
- Palworld: 230,000
- Last epoch: 220,000
- Baldur’s Gate 3: 150,000
- Grand Theft Auto V: 150,000
Congratulations to Steam and especially to the players who responded this weekend! When will the peak be 35 million?
