The controllers of the new generation consoles each bring their share of new features that PC gamers would obviously like to enjoy. Valve understood this well, and therefore did not move to make these controllers compatible, which must now be combined with the present code.
The latest Steam client Bta update adds support for DualSense and the Xbox Series X | S controller.. For the latter, it is above all a correction, which also allows it to be considered as two separate devices.
Basic support
So here is good news for the owners of these controllers, whether by purchasing the unit or by having acquired the console which accompanies them incidentally. Nevertheless, concerning the DualSense – which we appreciate the handling and certain characteristics favoring immersion – the compatibility remains limited:
Advanced features such as vibration, trackpad, gyroscope are not yet compatible.
If you thought you were immediately entitled to the unexpected sensations by plugging your pad into your PC or Mac, you have failed. But as you can see, Gabe Newell’s friends are not going to let the matter stand.
Remember that with a little trick and mischief, you can also enjoy DualSense on PS3 and Nintendo Switch.
