The Epic Games Store is serious competition for Steam with exclusive offers and deals, but more players than ever find their way to Valve's long-standing platform. A new user record was set at the weekend.
As can be seen from SteamDB surveys, yesterday, February 9, 19,107,803 active users were logged into Steam. Of these users, more than 6 million players were playing games at the same time. Both are records for simultaneous users on the Valve platform – mind you, since it exists.
As we predicted yesterday, both @Steam and @CSGO have again passed their concurrently online players peaks.

And the shooter veteran Counter-Strike is more popular than ever. Although more and more players are playing in battle royale titles such as PUBG or Fortnite, the tactical shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive apparently remains a real crowd puller. Also yesterday, Sunday, the title was playing at the top 901,681 at the same time, the majority of it on the official servers. The title broke the magical 900,000 mark for the first time, especially since the previous record is dated August 2012 (!). Back then, there were 854,801 players in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at the same time.
