If you don't see your friends list in Steam. You cannot play with them in online games. Invitations and messages were not sent. Netzwelt shows you what you can do now in this guide.
If your friends list is no longer displayed in Steam, you can of course reinstall Steam. However, if you don't want to do this, you can try the following solutions. If none of these methods solve the problem, our fault detector also checks for global faults.
Delete configuration folder

Exit Steam. Open your Steam installation location. You can usually find them under Programs.

Now look for the "Config" folder and rename it to "Backup config". Now open Steam again and log in.
Another option is to delete the Steam AppData folder. Below we show you where to find it.
Check firewall
If the problem may be with your firewall or antivirus software, you can temporarily disable it. Depending on the software or firewall used, you must also check whether the program "steamwebhelper.exe" is not blocked.
