The reason for these increasing numbers is of course found quickly. Football Manager is completely free on Steam for several days. The campaign has been running since March 18 and will continue beyond the weekend.
How long does the free campaign run? You have until March 25th at 4:00 p.m. to lead your preferred team to the top of the professional leagues for a few hours.
Does this have anything to do with Corona? Officially, developer Sports Interactive has not said that the Football Manager is free to keep players stranded at home. But there are many other developers who are a little more generous these days and justify this with the current pandemic.
